New management has taken over what was previously the Pillory Beach Hotel, directly overlooking beautiful Pillory Beach -- and the main feature is the hotel's in-house dive operation, with on-site PADI instructors and dive masters. Each of the 12 rooms and four suites, located in a separate building from the main section of the resort, has a private balcony with sea views. Chef Zev Beck is at the helm in the resort's gourmet restaurant, Guanahani, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner Friday to Tuesday; a bar menu, with burgers, fish, and conch, is offered all day long every day. Grand Turk Inn - These are the best accommodations in Grand Turk -- it was recently even named best guesthouse in the entire TCI. Sisters Katrina Birt and Sandy Erb, veterans of the Key West inn scene, discovered the charms of Grand Turk and the excellent bones of this handsome Bermudan-style 150-year-old former Methodist manse, which they lovingly renovated. The five suites are spacious and ultracomfortable, with king- or queen-size beds dressed in soft linens; all have full kitchens and private bathrooms. The second-floor Pelican Suite can sleep up to four people. A big upper-floor sun deck overlooking the sea provides the perfect venue from which to watch humpback whales pass by in the winter.
